April 9th, 2011 - Sony PlayStation updates

Pretty nice week for PlayStation news, first up we have Tom Clany's Splinter Cell Trilogy coming to PS3 which consists of the first Splinter Cell game as well as Pandora Tomorrow and Chaos Theory. The games are getting the typical re-release treatment with retouched HD graphics, as well as 3D support and trophies. Though one disappointing thing about these re-releases is the removal of the Co-op and Multiplayer modes. While these games stand strong on their own in terms of Single Player enjoyment, the Co-op and Multiplayer modes were enjoyable and it's very unfortunate that they're not making the trip to the PS3. Source.

Next up we've got the release date announcement of Twisted Metal for PS3 as well as a new trailer for the game. If you haven't already seen the trailer then you probably should, it shows off some brand-new gameplay footage and some of the cinematics. Over the next few weeks there will be more information and previews released for the game including the unveiling of two new levels as well as a Nuke mode demonstration, and a new vehicle named Battlewagon. So expect some brutal carnage and mayhem! We can all mark down on our calenders October 4th, 2011 as the official release date of Twisted Metal! Get ready for some over-the-top vehicular carnage! Source | Trailer

Last up we've got the announcement that specially marked copies of SOCOM 4 will come with access to the upcoming Resistance 3 Multiplayer Beta. Also some nonsense about InFAMOUS 2, the sequel to a game that fell completely flat in my opinion.
